Fried Oyster Mushrooms
I'll show you one of the best ways to fry mushrooms and get the perfect crispy bite - a simple method you can use to fry anything else you want!
I seriously love anything fried and crispy. For me it’s always been like that, ever since I was a kid.
Nothing hit like fried chicken did back in the day after school.
But once I decided to no longer eat meat, I realised I could still enjoy the parts of fried chicken that I liked (taste, texture, flavour, bite, etc.) only without the need for an animal to be involved. A win for me and the lovely chickens.
Sometimes people forget that food, no matter what kind, is always seasoned with plants. Herbs and spices mostly.
So when it comes to fried “anything”, getting the batter right to how you like it is key and I’ll show you how to do that in this post.
An easy and staple method you can learn once and then take away with you to fry anything you want really (to a degree).
Here I’ve got oyster fried mushrooms, which have an incredible juicy texture to them making them ideal for this - all whilst using my favourite chicken seasoning (again, made with plants) to flavour everything up.
I served them with a gochujang mayo. Simple yet so damn satisfying.
Kinda like your favourite fried chicken without the chicken. So let’s get into it…
